VALUES "A MODEST PROPOSAL"

How are the values of justice and fairness related to this proposal? Justice for each one has different types of meaning; justice keeps everything fair according to the “rules”, and fairness is almost the same as justice, only that fairness looks more for making judgments that are free from discrimination. These values are seen reflected in the proposal when Jonathan (the author) goes, and puts on the place of the poor people in Ireland; began to walk all the zone, describing what he sees. Jonathan had the intention of making a proposal, and tried to bring equality and balance; as the story goes on, his real intention was never to help the society; What he wanted was to do the best for the country, no matter the circumstance. These is why in his proposal he puts, that as poor families are the ones that have four children maximum ; they should sell their children, because when they grow, they are going to be the same as their fathers; these is why he said that the poor families should sell their children’s; to be de food of the rich people; An act with lack of fairness for these children’s that wouldn’t have the chance to improve or make a change in their life, at the same time most of these proposal is not justice and fair, mainly with the poor people; that are the ones  affected by these. The Rich people doesn’t have in mind, or try ta help the poor ones. Jonathan doesn’t demonstrate this kind of values; he thinks that as the kinds are going to be the center of the economy for the poor people, the husbands are going to take more care of their wife’s, the woman’s will give more food, and treed the children’s well.
Is not a good proposal, or just thinking on that; killing some babies to give them for food, and this way and the overpopulation; but this is going to continue because they are just killing babies from one year, so it will be kind as market, that will continue with the overpopulation; and in a extremely case end with all the money; with out been invest in the country better. At the end Jonathan says that he never had a family and think in having one; so maybe this is why he doesn’t really feel what is losing an important member of your family, specially if it is your son.

Thankful and tustworthiness in the diary of Samuel Pepys

                             The diary of Samuel Pepys

The diary of Samuel Pepys, and how are the values of thankful and trustworthiness related with these. When someone is Thankful, they are very happy and relieved that something has happened. And when you are trustworthiness, is been worthy of being trusted; honest, reliable, or dependable. At the beginning of the diary we can see how Samuel Pepys writes about how happy he is for been in those important moments, mainly in the coronation of the king, also he writes that he feel happy with all the things that he have , these it looks a little materialistic, but is not true, because the things that he had and the high position in which he was, were the merit of his effort. He also writes about how he is in complete love with his wife, and how happy it makes him when she cooks for him; he contradicts himself by writing that he was with other girls, but that he only loved his wife. These makes him a person with out trustworthiness; we have also to realize, that what we are reading, it was only for his personal use, and not for the public. If no one in that time had reed his diary, they wouldn’t have any form of knowing all the bad acts that he committed. In the way he writes we can see that he is a thankful and trustworthiness men for the king. In the diary we can also see that he wrote when London was in fire and all the people of the town was helping each other, and trying to safe everyone; and he didn’t do anything, he was just watching because he was not affected.
No one didn’t know about his bad acts, he only wrote for him, been completely honest; believing that nobody would read his diary. These makes him a trustworthiness man to the eyes of the people. Samuel Pepys really was a man to admire for all his hard work, and good acts that he did, getting away the bad ones.

What virtues most have people to make earth a better place.

Today, we see how the world, science and humanity itself is transformed according to constant modernization. However, something that prevails with the years is the innate need of man to preserve those values and social virtues that can strengthen this process, in the midst of peaceful, healthy and sustainable relationships among humanity. And it is at this point, where we see the family, as the first place where the human being is born and develops. It is there where everyone gets, educates and lives those values and virtues that enable a harmonious development of personality, favoring the growth of socially and emotionally stable people. But what are those actions that determine if a person has virtues that favor the common welfare of a society, and make the world a better place to live? .

First, we must know that values are criteria or norms that guide human behavior in the personal, family, work and social, which facilitate interpersonal relationships. And the permanent practice of these values is transformed into virtues, since, they are entrenched in the consciousness of the person. The virtues are the usual repetition of a set of positive actions, which are learned and manifested voluntarily and involuntarily and allows the person to do good for themselves and others and give their best in each activity or task they perform .

The virtues cater to the need of man to achieve perfection and excellence, so it can be said that the virtues are innate qualities that develop during the life of the person. The permanent practice of the virtues transforms the individual into an integral person, since these are rooted and are part of the personality of the individual

Some of these the acts that allow the healthy coexistence between human beings, as well as those that favor human relationships can be:

Acceptance, is the ability to recognize, despite not being perfect, that we are valuable and worthy of being loved and respected by others and by ourselves.

Patience is the ability you have to know how to wait in a correct way, without losing your calm. It is a skill that is acquired progressively with the passage of time.

Prudence is the ability to think and reflect before acting. The person knows that their words and actions have positive and / or negative consequences. it prevents us from behaving in an unreflective and impulsive way in multiple situations.

Gratitude is a virtue of nobility, kindness, generosity and recognition towards others.

Perseverance means standing firm and constant in reaching the objectives and goals proposed, despite the obstacles and / or difficulties.

Responsibility, It is an act of maturity and moral obligation of compliance with duties, which implies efforts on the part of oneself.

Generosity is the habit of sharing with others and taking care of their needs. Being generous is one of the best virtues a person can possess.

Forgiveness is a virtue that allows one to recognize one's own mistakes and ask forgiveness of those who are hurt by it. Forgiveness is also having the ability to listen to the other, to recognize that no one is perfect and not to keep track.

These are some of the many virtues that make possible a peaceful, tolerant and pleasant world for every generation. We can say that the human being acquires these virtues with the constant practice of those values that he acquires since childhood, in the family; and that later become part of the character and personality of each person. Concluding thus, that virtue is to be conscious and act appropriately in all the circumstances of our life.

The golden hut

Many years ago, a couple of hunters walked with their dog, deep in the forest; until, they visualized in the distance, a deer feeding. The dog began to bark, and the hunters left him free, to chase the deer. Both men ran behind the dog; but in a short time, they lost track of the animal.
However, they kept running, guided by the slight barking of the dog in the distance; until they came to a dark place where  the roof of a hut had a strong golden glow. They were surprised and with a little fear, decided to approach the entrance of that hut. And they saw that the straw was made of gold. They quickly forgot their hunting of the deer, and fragmented by the gold, they decided to steal a bit of that straw.
Suddenly, a small man with wrinkled skin, big feet and a twisted nose, appeared on the golden straw.
upon seeing it, the hunters dropped the golden straw, and tried to escape. But the little man stopped them by stretching his arms, until he caught them, and with  an evil smile, he told them that anyone who stole his straw of gold, should become more gold for his roof; and in this way, increase the brightness to attract more men.
since then, hunters say that in the middle of night of hunting, they observe a strange shine in the deepest of the forest, that makes them return to their houses.

Essay

Colombia is such a beautiful country, in which we can find all kinds of things from different cultures with different kinds of accents which are divided by regions and high mountains, in Colombia you can also see most of the stations since we have Many mountain areas and we also have coastal areas. Thanks to having this great variety of climates Colombia has many crops of different types, but for which we are recognized worldwide is coffee.  Colombia is also a country that stands out for its fauna and flora as there is a lot of biodiversity. This means that many campaigns are implemented to take care of our forests and natural reserves, this keeps them clean and well cared; attracting many tourists which are excited in search of knowing these varieties of landscapes. In each region you will find a different culture, perhaps with a gastronomy that looks similar but is not the same. Colombia has a good number of islands: it is the only country in South America that has a coastline in the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea, and much coastline means many islands.Colombia is home to some of the most incredible, diverse paradises and surrounded by palm trees in the world of the islands.

Barranquilla is the golden gate since it is where the development of the country enters, besides having one of the most important events of the country that are the carnivals. It can be a hot city but the best are the beaches that are there and also you will never get cold. Barranquilla has now had many changes, thus turning the other side of the city, which looks towards our river, initiating works such as the malecon, gold door events center and the monument "the window to the world" that was recently innaburated; In addition, Barranquilla was the center of the Central American games of the Caribbean, so this led Barranquilla to build and renovate new sporting venues, which were now left to all Barranquilleros for their use. Barranquilla tambein is a multicultural city, where Arab, Lebanese descendants are present, and it has a cultural identity with countries of the Caribbean, such as Dominican Repulic, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, among others. Barranquilla is also characterized by gastronomy where many travelers come to the city to enjoy Italian, Arab, Peruvian, Spanish food, and their own typical food. As for music, rhythms from many countries, mainly from the Caribbean such as salsa, regue, ranchera, and their own music such as cumbia and vallenato, are also presented. In the music our pride is shakira who has achieved international triumphs and recognitions.

I live in the Rio Mar neighborhood located north of the city of Barranquilla is part of the new development of the city and is characterized by housing located in high-rise buildings and are surrounded by green areas and shopping centers, the voullevar of buenavista, site visited by families from all over the city, and shopping centers such as homecenter, pricemart, viva. Very close is a soccer field which is used every day by children and youth from different neighborhoods of Barranquilla. Nearby is the sector of universities, such as the University of the Atlantico, University of the Norte,  University of the Libre, San Martin University, among others. In the neighborhood where I also live, there are marymount educational institutions, the Enseñanza and lyndon b, a school in which I study and which is very close to my home. It is a quiet neighborhood, nice, with good transport service and roads in good condition, in the early mornings you can see the neighbors of the sector doing physical activity, or walking their pets, in general it is one of the best neighborhoods in the city.

MY LIFE

                                               MY LIFE

My name is Juan Diego Lemus Ariza, I was born and raised in the city of Barranquilla, I have lived most of my life with my mother, except for one year, I lived with my father. I am currently 16 years old and I am doing my last year at the Lyndon B Johnson School, my expectations this year would be to concentrate more with the studies and give a better result than in previous years, but at the same time have fun and enjoy it since it will be the last school year.

Over the years I have acquired different types of skills and ways of thinking.
I like to think, reflect and reach certain conclusions, which help me a lot in my daily life, obviously I do not always choose the right one, since I am not a perfect person and I also have many mistakes. I do not like when someone without knowing enters my life or talks without thinking; in some situations when I get angry I can calm down by simply ignoring someone or something that bothers me, at that moment.
I like to do different types of activities, one of which I enjoy the most is playing soccer and spending time with friends or family, I also like video games that I play with my cousins, I also enjoy meeting different countries and new cultures.

I hope in the future to achieve all my dreams, which will be very difficult to fulfill but not impossible.

CAUSES OF REJECTION OF WOMEN IN SOME WORK FIELDS

Women have been looking for and making protests for legal, political, professional, social, family and personal equality which they were denied. The trajectory of women was conditioned by a gender system that aimed to strengthen male dominance, the sexual division of labor and the restriction of female activities in the domestic sphere. they thought that they could not be studying or working, that they should be responsible for the duties of the home and take care of the children. There are many situations today where women are still rejected in some work camps.

Looking for a job today is subject to many conditions, but the one that is more outrageous is that gender is a determining factor for certain positions that should already be overcome this condition. There are few jobs that require only one man or only one woman, but there are those who still do not have very clear, and they go beyond what we know as inclusion, this is the case of a company, which rejects a woman with male chauvinist comments to her job application. And to her surprise, the answer was negative since the position had to be performed by a man who is capable of "keeping up with the rhythm, the visits, knowing production, etc."
In Spain, women earn less than men for the same work, income inequality represents the difference between the average gross remuneration per hour of male salaried employees and the average gross remuneration per hour of salaried female employees as a percentage of the gross average remuneration per hour of men But it is said that it is not easy for women to achieve positions of hierarchy within the company but, once they do, their salaries are even higher than those of men.
Also, despite all that has been done to stop this, the quantitative leap that women have made in their incorporation into the labor market in recent decades, that in some sectors, such as Justice, has achieved parity, giving a discrimination since women are concentrated in those occupations that are related to the roles and stereotypes that have traditionally been attributed to them. There is also the perverse effect that some activities are underestimated because they are developed by women. they have to do with as care as health, cleaning or teaching, and with commerce and customer service. Some men like to point out that women are not exposed to extreme temperatures or physical work, on the job or in an attempt to silence any allegation of gender inequality in the workplace. As if there were not willing and willing women to do it, and others who already do it and show that they can, Women continue to have more difficulties to access the labor market than men, but there are sectors in which "discrimination" is more patent.

Almost every day we coexist in our work environment with women and men and, often, behave as macho. Even, sometimes, machismo is so present in the workplace, at the same time, so implicit, that women who do not even have to think about it have roles, behaviors and macho comments. Those who should be stopped and try to make sure that they do not feel bad, and that they are always comfortable in their work environment.

POLITICAL, SOCIAL AND ECONOMICAL SITUATION IN THREE COUNTRIES IN SOUTH AMERICA

POLITICAL, SOCIAL AND ECONOMICAL SITUATION IN THREE COUNTRIES IN SOUTH AMERICA

All around the world are many problems that involve many politic and economic acts, and also natural resources that the coutries have, an example of this situation that we can see is the countrie that is next to us, that is Venezuela, that is why you can see that many people from over there are moving to Colombia, their situation is really bad, that is because a president named nicolas maduro has taken over the country and changed too many things on the economic, political and also social areas and these changes had affected the country. An other countrie that have problems is our countrie Colombia but it have politic problems because a lot of people dosnt think the same about the peace process that was sign last year by our president Juan Manuel Santos , who decide to do this, for the main revolutionary group of the fARC to leave the weapons . But a lot of the poblation dosnt agree with these because they think that all thispeople that have make to many harmful things to our society and they are going to gave them a space to work in our government. The other countrie is uruguay that have a system that offered comprehensive social protection in the early development of social policy. In recent years, however, the welfare state in Uruguay has faced considerable challenges. This chapter will examine social policy in Uruguay and analyse the problems it is experiencing. In doing so, it will identify the political and economic dynamics of the Uruguayan welfare state.

Venezuela is immersed in a deep humanitarian, political and economic crisis. Its citizens are suffering from a shortage of products while hospitals do not have medicines or basic equipment. Experts say that Venezuela has a priority to pay its debt instead of addressing the shortage.
The experts have the following question about how much time is left in Venezuela before it runs out of money. But all agree that Venezuela does not have enough money reserves to make all its payments during the next two years.
It is a difficult situation and a rather ironic one for a country that has the largest oil reserves in the world.
In ColombiaNobody expected a year ago, when peace was signed with the FARC, that the implementation of the agreements was easy. But reality has shown that everything has been much more difficult than imagined.
But there is also a fact about which little is said at the information juncture and that it permanently affects the implementation of peace agreements: the weight that Colombian society has on the damage suffered during many years of war.
What the country is seeing today and in the future is that reconciliation, the main objective of a peace process, will be a hard and long task that will require political leaders willing to lead it. In addition, of a citizenship that, beyond the grudges left by the armed conflict, assumes that, in order to move forward, Colombia needs peace. Although the urban sectors do not perceive it, it is a fact that the violence due to the armed conflict was reduced substantially. At the same time, civilian deaths from the conflict were reduced.
Uruguayan reaction to the economic Crisisand the economic and political transition that followed in
its aftermath. This crisis not only threw Uruguay into its deepest crisis since
the return of democracy, but also became the initiation of a political reform that is still in progress. The chapterwill pay particular attention to some of the structural problems of the Uruguayan labor market, such as an aging population, unemployment and public sector reforms. These problems are serious challenges to Uruguay, not only in terms of social protection, but also for its economic development. As we will illustrate, unless these challenges are tackled effectively, they could have a negative effect on the social and economic prospects for Uruguay. But now Uruguay has introduced social programs in the areas of education, social security and employment.

Many countries all around the world specially in south america that is  where in some places you can see poverty and corruption, you can find a lot of problem in a political social and economical aspect, these leads many of these countries to resort and ask for help from the bigest countries  so that they do not decay, and try to return  as they were before  or improve to succes as a better countrie.

ESSAY n6.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN WORLDWIDE

Violence and abuse of women and of children are a global problem. This problem blights and takes the lives of millions every year. Women and children are often the victims of particular types of violent crimes such as domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, child abuse and neglect, elder abuse  and neglect, prostitution, malnutrition, kidnapping and hate crimes... it is necessary that both citizens and governments of each country, we be vigilant of respect for human rights that every woman and child has, regardless of nationality, race language and cultural differences. Because if we want building a more peaceful world, stopping this violence, we must be a top priorirty, not only for the safe of the millions directly affected , but for the safe of all of us.

Victims of violence of any type fear stigmatization or societal condemnation and thus often hesitate to report crimes. The issue is compounded by the fact that for women and children the perpetrators are often people they know and because some countries lack laws or regulations protecting victims.
A cruel and sad reality, is that many of the cases against women and children is perpetrated by partners, family members, friends, or against women and children takes places in the form of intimate partner violence, family violence, or school violence.
North Korea is a country under a dictatorial government, where many human rights are often violated against women and children.
According to many reports, the protection of North korean children, and their rights are violated regularly: Torture, abuse, bad nutrition, lack of hygiene and lack of medical care are some of the problems facing children in North Korea. Despite the extreamly harsh and cruel nature of the situation, the government refuses to acknowledge that these camps exist. Given these circumstances, recognizing violations of children`s rights seems an impossible task.
North Korea between October and November of 2017 detailed the discrimination and exploitation, as well as the physical and sexual violence faced by women and girls in North Korea. North Koreans who recently fled the country or maintained regular contacts with people still in North Korea said that women and girls face gender-based discrimination from childhood in school, work and home. They also said that women frequently face male violence in their homes, in public spaces, including the market, and there is virtually no official recourse or protection mechanisms for victims.
In France, most children are exposed to abuse or neglected by their parents. Social services help many of these children. The Committee on the Rights of the Child has also noted that in France corporal punishment is still prevalent against children, both within the family and the school, especially in the overseas departments to marry. In fact, the use of violence against children is not prohibited in France. One solution to overcome this problem is to explicitly prohibit by law corporal punishment in the family.
In Afghanistan, violence against women in the home is so prevalent and so pervasive that practically every woman will experience it in her life time. Domestic violence has become a regular feature of almost all households, and shapes every aspect of women`s and girl`s lives: their health, their livelihoods, their acces to social and cultural resources, and their educational opportunities.

Violence affects women at some point in their lives and children all over the world. It is an epidemic that has harmful consequences on the mental and physical health of those who survive it and that affects women and children without distinction of countries, cultures, educational and socioeconomic levels. Urgent measures must be taken to stop the repetition of violent patterns. No strategy can be successful if it is based solely on response or penalty actions, it is necessary to take more effective strategies such as those that seek to transform social norms that legitimize the inequality of power between men and women and develop skills to solve problems without violence .

HOW THE PROCESS OF DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS IN COLOMBIA WAS.

The last electoral elections in Colombia, had like objective the election of our representatives to the congress of the republic; that is conformed by camera and senate. Here all the political parties of our country presented their candidates and as citizens we had the opportunity to listen and analyze their political proposals. perhaps one of the most relevant facts was that, for the first time in history, F.A.R.C had participation as a political party.

This democratic process took place in a peaceful manner and in total normality. With the results it was possible to observe and analyze the new percentages of
the abstention, the blank vote and the opinion vote; In addition to comparing past elections, the phenomenon called "vote buying" and the legitimacy of those who went to the polls. Go out and see the ethics and credibility of the political candidates. Something very important, since the politics without ethics becomes a corrupt underworld, where the power and personal interests of the politician will always prevail over the arrival of the population. And those who seek to govern in a democratic society like our country, should be an example
This year there was a high participation of citizens, something very fundamental for future debates and popular consultations related to issues such as peace, justice, immigration, education, the economy and many others.

Here I highlight three long-term challenges that if any president faced would leave an indelible mark:

1. Education The efforts that have been made have been insufficient. To begin with, it is necessary to ensure food, health, affection and proper education in early childhood; in this age we play half of the task. Children without sufficient nutrition or adequate and timely stimulation will have much lower chances of being good bachilleres, needless to say, professionals.

2. Moving from a mining economy to a more modern, innovative and diversified one. We have already explained it many times in this blog: this is a country that deindustrializes. Colombia today depends as never before on mining exports and, on the other hand, it has weakened its manufacturing industry and its agriculture.

3. First the human being. To the economic policies it is necessary to give them a turn of 180%. That inflation worries more than employment, what we focus on GDP growth more than socio-economic development; or that we want to solve with unfeasible subsidies the fundamental needs of the people (health, education, housing, etc.) are clear evidence that we are confused in our priorities.

We must remember that a good political representative in our government will always be one who sees Colombia with a vision of the future, and works honestly for the welfare of the country that chose him. Without wanting to be simplistic, and without ignoring that the conjuncture will always be a challenge for any ruler; this country has pending tasks that, as long as they do not confront us, will keep us in underdevelopment. We need to strengthen State policies and stop relying on short-term politicking compromises.
